Shanghai launched an exhibition today to showcase local industrial brands, kicking off the China Industrial Brands Tour to help enhance the brand competitiveness of the domestic producers.
The exhibition, named "Top Brand Shanghai," presented 43 local corporations covering 68 celebrated local brands selected from more than 200 in total. It highlighted the unique advantages of Shanghai's manufacturing sector, said Chen Yaohua, vice director at the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Information Technology.
The three-day exhibition took place at the Shanghai Fashion Center, and is the "first stop of the 'China Industrial Brands Tour' followed by exhibitions at Guangzhou and Shandong provinces," Chen said.
"China seeks stronger brand influences after domestic producers across the board have obtained large shares in the global manufacturing market," said Sha Nansheng, vice director of science and technology at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Shanghai Electric Group attended the exhibition, highlighting its latest achievement in power equipment and smart manufacturing, while Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone Group shared its progress in building China's largest container ship.
