Chinese bike-sharing services provider Mobike announced on Thursday plans to enter Santiago, Chile's capital, with the initial installation of 100 docks.

Chile becomes the second country in South America where Mobike will operate, after Mexico, the company said in a statement sent to the Global Times on Thursday.

Mobike has a presence in more than 200 cities around the world with more than 9 million bikes.

However, its major rival - ofo - ranks first in China and abroad among all bike-sharing start-ups, mobile big data analysis platform Cheetah Lab said in a report on Wednesday, according to media reports.
