On March 25, 2016, “Good Fortune Tripod” of Hsi Lai Temple, the world's heaviest and largest bronze tripod which is integrally casted and formed arrived in Liuzhou, and was successfully hoisted in the evening till the next morning.
The height of the tripod manufactured in Wuhan is 7.158 meters, with maximum diameter of 5.8 meters, and total weight of 90 tons. The round tripod has 3 layers, with the ear height of 1.842 meters, tripod body height of 3.468 meters, and the feet height of 1.848 meters.
The tripod body is divided into 8 sections, among which, 6 sections are real maps of the four famous Buddhist mountains, Hsi Lai Temple panorama, Guang Can Master fund-raising, as well as the inscriptions of“Hsi Lai Temple” and “Good Fortune Tripod” respectively. Inscriptions are also casted in the inner wall of the tripod.
This tripod usesdecorative techniques of repetition, symmetry and partial close-up, combinesrealistic and abstract ornamentation, strengthening the decorative themeand presenting a strong visual impact. Hsi Lai Temple once casted the world's largest 10-ton Buddhas Bell in 2010, and keeps the world's largest Buddhist bell and tripod.
