Thirty two people were killed after a tour bus overturned on a highway in Taipei on Monday evening, according to local authorities.
The bus was carrying at least 44 people, including the driver, most of whom were seniors. The injured have been admitted to hospital, local police said.
There were no tourists from the Chinese mainland or foreign countries on the bus, police added.
While returning from a cherry blossom tour in Taichung City, the bus, suspected of speeding, crashed into the guardrail at about 9:06 p.m. and veered off the highway.
The rescue at the site has ceased.
