Explosion reported in subway station in west London

An explosion was reported Friday morning in a subway station in west London, and police have opened a probe into the incident.

"We are aware of an incident at Parsons Green tube station. Officers are in attendance," London's Metropolitan Police said on Twitter.

The station was closed, as well as an entire section of the District Line where the station is located.

The blast caused facial burns on some passengers, according to the website of London's Metro newspaper.
