A further 818 Chinese websites and apps have published telephone numbers and email addresses for reporting violations, the China Internet Illegal Information Reporting Center said Tuesday.
This group includes the app of Chinese bike-sharing giant Mobike, Mtime.com, a database of information related to movies, and ChinaHR.com, a human resource solutions provider.
The websites and apps cover news, finance and economics, science, tourism, and education, and are in Mandarin Chinese and other languages including Mongolian, Uygur, Tibetan and Dai.
Members of the public can also directly report violations through the the reporting center's website, its phone number 12377, and its app, as well as the reporting sections of major news and business websites.
This was the fourth group of websites and apps where the public can now report illegal and harmful online information, according to the reporting center.
So far, a total of more than 1,600 websites have published numbers and email addresses to report violations, the center said.
Internet illegal information reporting centers nationwide received over 6.67 million reports in October, an increase of 1.5 times over the same period last year.
Feedback on more than 6.45 million cases has been made available to the public, the reporting center said.
