The 28th East China Import & Export Commodity Fair, or East China Fair as it is better known, opened in Shanghai on Thursday, generating a more effective market and attracting more exhibitors and buyers from around the world.
The four-day fair covers an exhibition area of 125,000 square meters at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, with 6,580 standard booths.
An abundance of activities will be held, including an ECF Innovation Award Selection, three one-to-one matchmaking events for buyers and a series of forums, which will provide great opportunities for both exhibitors and buyers to get more information and enhance communication.
Following the organizers' efforts on overseas online promotion, high-quality European and American buyers have been invited, expanding the fair's main foreign trade markets from Japan and South Korea. This will help exhibitors close more deals with their target clients.
"At the fair I've found lots of high-quality Chinese products, with traditional Chinese features. I think this is a good platform to know more about the exhibitors and make deals," said a buyer from the United States.
The fair is obviously a good opportunity for overseas exhibitors to promote their products to Chinese buyers.
Tamotsu Yamanaka of Japanese sports company BMZ, said that they communicated with many Chinese buyers on the first day, which is meaningful for their plan to enter the Chinese market.
The attendance of large number of overseas exhibitors can be regarded as an achievement of the ECF's improving business environment, which will further help promote the development of Shanghai's business environment, according to the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.
