Jinshui District is located in northeast of Zhengzhou which is the provincial capital of Henan Province. Its name comes from the Jinshui River which existed in its area during the Spring and Autumn Period. Its area covers 136.66 km2, including the urban area of 74.56 km2. It has a permanent resident population of 1.303 million and includes 17 streets, Jinshui Scientific and Educational Park, National Intellectual Property Creative Industry Pilot Park and Henan Science Park. Jinshui District is the provincial central area of politics, economy, culture, finance and information, and has a prosperous economy, convenient transportation, advanced facilities and complete functions. It is the first county (city) district of which the GDP exceeded the 100-billion mark and which completed the process of building a moderately well-off society in all aspects in the province. It is also the only county (city) district which is listed into Zhengzhou-Luoyang New Self-dependent Innovation Demonstration Area and China (Henan) Pilot Free Trade Zone at the same time. Its comprehensive strength ranks in the top 3 in the provincial capital areas of the central six provinces. Its economic society has maintained a sustainable development with high quality and high efficiency.
