NBA Hall of Famer and renowned jokester Shaquille O'Neal has proposed to Chinese singer and actress Victoria Song during the filming of Zhejiang variety TV show "Beat the Champions".

Shaq was in China to take part in the show after commenting on the NBA Finals in the United States earlier in the week.

During the filming of the show, the NBA legend jokingly got down on one knee and held out a ring and a bouquet of flowers.

A surprised Victoria took the mock proposal in her stride, replying that she would have to return home and ask her mother first, causing the studio audience to burst out in laughter.

Shaq appears to have chosen Victoria in favor of Chinese model and actress Angelababy, recently taking to social media site Weibo, saying, "@angelababy you used to be my favorite but you are married, so now it's you @宋茜, will you marry me?"

Victoria first rose to fame in China as a singer in the popular K-pop group f(x), before becoming a successful actress and permanent cast member on "Beat the Champions" and a solo artist.

The 7 foot 1 American, Shaq has long been popular in China signing sponsorship deals with many Chinese companies such as sportswear company Li-Ning and Harbin Beer.
