Several days ago the deputy secretary of the Hainan Provincial Committee, Mr. Li Jun brought to session a special meeting entitled “My Farm In Hainan” and publicised for the first time the province's current big scheme: this year all three fields of agriculture in Hainan shall focus their efforts on the My Farm In Hainan movement. This entails nurturing new commercial models in the agricultural industry; advancing the development of a beautiful countryside and all-for-one tourism; increasing the efficacy and yield of local agricultural ventures; supporting the Poverty Alleviation Program; creating an “ace” industry.
Regarding the implementation of the movement, Li Jun pointed out that everyone needs specific duties, detailed measures, industry support, financial security, the construction of basic facilities and other such governmental aid as well as selecting the first pilot farms. Cities and provinces need to adjust to their local reality and plan according to resource allocation to produce an implementation program as soon as possible that will encourage and guide leading enterprises to work alongside local farming businesses. Target markets include the developed cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou with medium to high income families as well as the migratory markets. It is hoped that large scale sales events will turn consumers into investors turning Hainan into an operational farming trend that will induce a new business format and a new fashionable lifestyle.
Previously at the 6th Hainan Provincial Communist Youth League Rally, Li Jun urged participants to attend the My Farm In Hainan meeting attracting young talent from all over to invest in this new venture.
