Hainan Opera, also known as Qiong Zhou Opera, is a genre of southern Chinese theatre steeped in history. It is rich in colloquial characteristics and beloved by local Hainan citizens and oversea Chinese alike. Together with Cantonese, Chao Zhou and Hanchu opera styles, it constitutes the Four Great Lingnan Opera Series.
