Watercolor exhibition celebrates dynamics of life

Updated 2019-01-08 11:06:00

Ever since watercolor was introduced into China, it has become an important form for both career artists and amateur painters to express.

An exhibition now on at the National Art Museum of China, through Jan 16, shows nearly 140 watercolors to offer a glimpse of the practice of professional painters over the past four decades.

Some of the works hail their creators' sophisticated techniques by depicting the subjects with great accuracy. Others works mark a tendency of which painters take up an abstract approach to present a Chinese sensibility.
