Global event to promote arts education for youth to be held in Suzhou

At a press conference on Feb 24, it was announced that the International Festival of Youth Arts Education would be held in Suzhou, East China’s Jiangsu province over Jul 18-21.[Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The International Festival of Youth Arts Education will be held in Suzhou, in East China’s Jiangsu province over Jul 18-21.

The theme of the event is “Arts Cultivates the Future”, and the festival aims to enhance the basic artistic literacy of primary and middle school students.

Five major activities, including an exhibition of hand-painted picture books, a puppet show festival, a gathering to discuss poetry, a show of the most beautiful class songs and a forum will be held at the event.

According to Wang Dengfeng, the director of physical education, health and arts education at China’s Ministry of Education: “Art education is an integral part of young people’s lives. And I hope this event will help spread the importance of art education and help us to gain experience on how to promote it.”
