Gala celebrates Children's Day

Celebrating the International Children's Day, which falls on June 1, a gala, entitled We Grow Together, My Country and Me, is held for two shows on May 31 and June 1 at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

The gala is co-organized by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF), China Welfare Institute (CWI) and NCPA.

A total of 39 art troupes, featuring adults and children singers, dancers and actors, from around the country join in the gala, which combines singing, dancing, traditional Chinese opera and drama.

According to director, Meng Yan, the gala is divided into three chapters: "family," "country" and the "world", which also marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
