With fewer and fewer traditional shadow puppeteers practising in China, the art form is on the brink of extinction. When the opportunity came for Pamela to leave behind Cape Town and travel to China to teach drama, she seized her opportunity to pursue her passion for shadow puppetry, and study the ancient craft from masters throughout country.
