  Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as state-level deveopment zone in April 2000. The zone now has a developed area of 5.5 aquare kilometers.
  
  Geographical Location
  Nanchang Economic & Technological Development Zone (NCTDZ) is situated in the new Changbei district of Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province. It stands by Gangjiang River on the east, adjacent to Meiling in the west, a national tourist resort, close to Changbei airport, the largest airport in Jiangxi province and near Honggutan, the new administrative center of Nanchang. And across the river joined by three bridges lie Changnan, the parent town of Nanchang.

  Communication and Transportation
  Road
  Beijing-Zhuhai State Highway No. 105, Shanghai-Kunming State Highway No. 320, and Fuzhou-Lanzhou State Highway 316 all meet in Nanchang. Nanchang-Jiujiang Expressway runs across the zone.

  Railway
  Beijing-Kowloon, Zhejiang-Jiangxi, Xiangle and Anhui-Jiangxi Railways cross each other in Nanchang. Beijing-Kowloon Railway operates a Changbei Passenger Station and a Changbei Freight Station in NCTDA, both accessible by special railways in the zone.

  Water Transportation
  NCTDA faces the main channel of Gangjiang River in the south, where shipping wharves are built. Goods can be shipped along Gangjiang River to the Yangtze River via Boyang Lake and be further shipped through the East Sea to other parts of the world.

  Airport
  Nanchang has 17 air routes to domestic destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. NCTDA is only 10 kilometers from the new Changbei Airport.

  Human Resources
  Nanchang enjoys an advanced system of science and education. It owns 136 institutions of scientific research and technological development.

  Investment Priorities
  Machinery: automobile, motorcycle and key components, high-efficiency welding equipment, NC machine tools and parts, hydraulic and pneumatic components, and precision moulds.

  Electronic Electronics: integration of optic-electric-mechanic meters and instruments, environmental protection facilities, electronic devices and components, integrated circuits, high-end computers, monitors, optic communications equipment, industryand household electric appliances.

  Light industry: leather goods, textiles, garments, synthetic face fabricetc, pollution-free batteries, cameras, packaging materials, color-printing and plate-making, and tourist products.

  Foods: storage and fresh-preservation technologies for fruits, vegetables, meat and aquatic products, fine processing of cereal and edible oils, green food production, tonic beverages, liquors and wines, perfume essence, and supplementary feeds.

  Medicines: chemical bulk drugs, medical intermediaries, new anticancer drugs, cardiovascular and cerebral drugs, TCM and western medicine agents, and bio-engineering drugs.

  Chemicals: refined chemicals, cosmetic raw materials, engineering plastics, synthetic materials, synthetic rubber, organic chemicals, and polyesters.

  New materials: float glass, fiberglass, glass fibers, new wall materials, decorative materials, washroom ceramics and bathroom products.

  New and High-tech industries: micro-electronic technologies, bio-engineering technologies, laser, energy-saving technologies, and resource-recovering and recycling technologies.
  Infrastructure: road, bridge, port, wharf, gas supply, heat supply, transportation power supply, and waste management.

  Real estates and tourism: hotel, department store, hospital, school, supermarket, specialty market, housing, tourism and entertainment.
