JAKARTA, April 28 (Xinhua) -- China Certification and Inspection Co. Ltd (CCIC) Jakarta, an overseas branch of CCIC, opened here Monday.

    Located near the Jakarta International Airport, CCIC Jakarta branch is the first overseas minerals and metals laboratory that CCIC has established outside of China and the first of its kind in the region that greatly boost the trading activities between China and Indonesia.

    CCIC officials said at the opening ceremony that the new minerals and metals laboratory will facilitate trades in the minerals and metals industry for miners, suppliers, buyers and traders from ASEAN, Middle East, and Australia to gain access to the China market whilst providing synergy for the regional minerals and metals market.

    The CCIC Jakarta minerals and metals laboratory will function as a third party inspection laboratory, certifying all minerals and metals products coming in and out of China, in accordance with international industry standards and in compliance with China's specifications, and issuing analysis reports as per customer requirements.

    Reorganized from former China National Import and Export Commodities Inspection Corp., CCIC (Group) Co., Ltd. is a transnational company dedicated to provide inspection, surveying, certification and testing services, with authorization from the State Council, and with accreditation by the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China.

    It has 300 laboratories and offices worldwide.
