Chinanews, Beijing, May 23 - According to the data from the Ministry of Information Industry, by the end of last April there were more than 850 million phone subscribers in China, including 487 million cellphone subscribers and 371 million fixed telephone subscribers.
Thanks to the cancel of charges of receiving calls by cellphones, more and more Chinese choose to use cellphones instead of fixed phones for the sake of mobility. In 2007, the number of cellphone subscribers has been growing by 6 million every month, while the figure for fixed phone subscribers by only 1 million.
