The gallery will consider all kinds of potential products, including office supplies, digital and technological products and souvenirs.
"It is a special platform for display and sales. We would like to develop the creativity industry by showing how these products can elevate our lives," says Wang Meixiang, assistant general manager of KIC operation department.
"Creation is the engine of life and this gallery is a place where innovative ideas are encouraged."
At the gallery students can also view an exhibition of works for the 2008 Shanghai Animation and Comics Contest for university students. The exhibition will run until July 15.
The innovative works bode well for the future of China's booming animation and comics industry.
"The students will have opportunities to talk to entrepreneurs of Internet games and learn the requirement to become a designer in the industry," Wang says.
"Animation and comics are a part of the creativity industry and we hope more young people will get involved in this exciting industry," Wang says.
Ma Tao was a graduate majoring in garden design at Nanjing Forestry University. But an interest in industrial design made him pursue his dream of becoming a professional designer. With iD Gallery's help, his works have been in production and are available to purchase.
"I'm interested in designing the look of mobile phones, digital camera cabinets and a variety of USBs," Ma says.
"Persistence is the quality that has led me where I am now. If you have the similar passion for design then iD Gallery is the place to showcase your talents."
