Friendship Square
Friendship Square was built in the 1950s to memorize the friendship between China and the former Soviet Union. The most attractive scenery on the square is a 117-ton weight and 15-meter high crystal ball. The crystal ball is formed by 3,120 pieces of coated glass. In the crystal ball, there are 7,852 lanterns which can issue red, yellow and green light in the night. The crystal ball is held by five different colored hands, which is a symbol for people from the five different continents.
