President says China ready to work with Japan for relations promotion
TOKYO, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao on Thursday expressed China's readiness to work with Japan to achieve new progress in developing the strategic and mutually beneficial bilateral relations and made a five-point proposal on furthering the ties.

TOKYO, May 8 (Xinhua) -- China will continue its progress along the path of peaceful development, which is a strategic choice made by the Chinese government and people, visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao said here Thursday.
China firmly adheres to its independent foreign policy of
peace and the mutually beneficial strategy of opening-up, and devotes itself to
promoting democratization in international relations and pushing forward
economic globalization toward the goal of balanced, universal benefit and
win-win results, Hu said in his speech at Waseda University.
Chinese president makes five-point proposal on furthering China-Japan relations
TOKYO, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao made a five-point proposal on furthering the China-Japan strategic and mutually beneficial relations during a speech at the Waseda University Thursday afternoon.
"We reached broad consensus on the deepening of the strategic and mutually beneficial relations between China and Japan in an all-round way and worked out a framework for the long-term stable and healthy development of the bilateral ties" during talks with Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on Wednesday, Hu said.
Chinese president says to invite 100 Japanese university students to visit China
TOKYO, May 8 (Xinhua)-- China will invite 100 Japanese students at Tokyo's Waseda University to visit China, Chinese President Hu Jintao said Thursday.
Hu announced the plan while delivering a speech at Waseda
University. Hu arrived here Tuesday on a five-day state visit, the first ever by
China's head of state to Japan in a decade.
