BEIJING, Nov. 15 -- Grammy Award winning singer Norah Jones' big screen debut has been given a boost, after its rights were acquired by Hollywood heavyweights Bob and Harvey Weinstein's production company.
Jones will be seen on the big screen for the first time in Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai's romantic comedy 'My Blueberry Nights'.
The movie is now set to make waves after being picked up by the Weinstein's production company, which now has the rights to the film in America and Australasia, reports Contactmusic.
The movie, which also happens to be director Wong Kar-Wai's English language debut, sees the 'Come Away With Me' singer starring as a young woman out to find true love.
And though she has no previous acting experience, Jones was the first choice for the movie's lead character.
To be released in 2007, 'My Blueberry Nights' also stars Hollywood actors Rachel Weisz, Jude Law and Natalie Portman.
