My, we are getting pretentious! But as a kid I loved nature yet my mum counseled me train for something conventional. Nonetheless, I majored in philosophy before I studied law. The students of the former were certainly more interesting people. Even though the philosophy favored by the New Zealand university I attended was British empirical philosophy. Rigorous but dry, I would instead read Camus and Sartre.

So what does this have to do with photography? Well, some photographers manage to convey something of the human condition in their pics. Richard, Avedon for example. Perhaps these shots also qualify.
