U.S. to reopen its consulate general in Wuhan later this month

The U.S. State Department informed Congress that it plans to reopen the Consulate General in Wuhan later this month, reports the CNN.

"The Department is planning to resume operations on or around June 22, 2020, although stands ready to modify this schedule as conditions develop," according to Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs Mary Elizabeth Taylor.

The Consulate General of the U.S., put into operation in 2008, announced a shutdown on January 24 due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the central Chinese city.
