Chloe Zhao's feature film Nomadland earns Golden Globe nominations

Three female directors have made history as nominees for Best Director at the Golden Globe awards – the first time more than one has been shortlisted in a single year.

Chinese-born director Chloe Zhao's feature film Nomadland is up for the prize. The other two are Emerald Fennell for the rape-revenge satire Promising Young Woman and Regina King for the true-life 60s encounter One Night in Miami.

Nomadland earned six nominations on Tuesday including Best Picture for the 4th Annual Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards.
