Li Jiaqi, also known as China's Lipstick King, is now on the 2021 TIME100 Next list.

The U.S.-based magazine describes the top beauty influencer in China, as an "innovator" and a live-streaming sales powerhouse who has melted hearts with his charismatic -- and candid -- beauty-product reviews.

In 2019, Li helped drive US$145 million in sales on China's e-commerce platform Taobao during the country's Double 11 shopping festival, while he sold 15,000 lipsticks in just five minutes in 2018.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Li Jiaqi worked with Chinese media to promote products from Wuhan to help stimulate the city's economy. His efforts benefited rural farmers, as well as further increased his online fans, cites Time magazine.

For their 2021 TIME100 Next list, Time has selected the most influential representatives from different fields in the world, and classified them into five categories: artists, phenoms, leaders, advocates, and innovators.
