Cam: dong1 tian1. So what is the winter like in Beijing?
YJ: it can be very cold sometimes. Dong1 tian1 hen3 leng3.冬天很冷。
Cam: Dong1 tian1 hen3 leng3.
YJ: leng3 is cold,
Cam: leng3.
YJ: Dong1 tian1 hen3 leng3.
Cam: Dong1 tian1 hen3 leng3. The winter is cold.
YJ: then comes the spring, the Chinese for spring is chun1 tian1.
Cam: chun1 tian1. I know it’s windy in spring.
YJ: that’s true.
Cam: What’s the Chinese for that?
YJ: it’s春天经常刮风。(chūntiān jīngcháng guāfēng).
Cam: (chūntiān jīngcháng guāfēng).
Yajie:刮, the first tone, means to blow.
Cam:刮(guā).
Yajie:风, feng,means the wind.
Cam:风(fēng).
Yajie:刮风.
Cam:刮风(guā fēng).
YJ: jing1 chang2 means often,

YJ: jīngcháng guāfēng, it’s windy,

YJ:春天经常刮风。
