YJ: nin2 means you,
Cam: nin2,
YJ: xu1 yao4 means need,
Cam: xu1 yao4,
YJ: shen2me yang4, what kind of,
Cam: shen2me yang4,
YJ: shen2me means what,
Cam: shen2me,
YJ: yang4 means kind,
Cam: yang4,
YJ: fang2 jian1, room,
Cam: fang2 jian1.
YJ: nin2 xu1 yao4 shen2me yang4 de fang2 jian1? What kind of room would you like?
Cam: nin2 xu1 yao4 shen2me yang4 de fang2 jian1? we learned how to say “ I’d like to book a suite.” What’s the Chinese for that?
YJ: it’s我要一间套房
Cam: wo3 yao4 yi4 jian1 tao4 fang2.
YJ: wo3 yao4 means I need,
Cam: wo3 yao4,
YJ: yi4 jian1 means one, jian1 is the measure word,
Cam: yi4 jian1.
YJ: tao4 fang2 means suite,

Cam: qing3 wen4 nin2 zhu4 ji3 tian1?
YJ:qing3 wen4 means may I ask,
Cam: qing3 wen4,
YJ: nin2 means you,
Cam: nin2, the polite form of ni3,
YJ: zhu4 means to stay in hotel,
Cam: zhu4,
YJ: ji3 tian1. how many days,
Cam: ji3 tian1,
YJ: tian1 means days,
Cam: tian1
YJ: qing3 wen4 nin2 zhu4 ji3 tian1? For how many days?
Cam: qing3 wen4 nin2 zhu4 ji3 tian1?
YJ: let’s say you’ll stay for four days, in Chinese it’s .住四天.
Cam: zhu4 si4 tian1. zhu4 means to stay in a hotel,
YJ: si4 tian1 means four days,
Cam: si4 tian1, as four in Chinese is si4,
YJ: then what if you’ll stay for three days,
Cam: I’ll say “zhu4 san1 tian1” as san1 means three in English,
